Thundercat teams up with Ace Hashimoto for their new single 'VAPORWAVES', released alongside an 8-bit music video, simulating a retro car-racing game. 'Hashi' meaning 'bridge', Ace Hashimoto is a rapper wanting to bridge the gap between Japanese and American culture. 'VAPORWAVES' sees half plucked bass chords lay the foundation for this squelchy and serene track. In true Thundercat-style, there are oodles of wah engulfing the lead melody line. Ace Hashimoto's R&B inflected vocals tackle grandiose themes of life, god and the end of the world.
